Assessing & Optimizing Your Dog or Cat's Nutritional Needs

Based on your pet's age, breed, species, and health status, their dietary needs and preferences can change. Our veterinarians are here to offer dietary counselling and guidance to help you determine what food best fits your furry friend's needs.

Specific health conditions and age can dictate the type of food that your companion should eat. It can be very difficult to understand your pet's nutritional needs and keep up with all the changing factors. This is why our veterinarians provide expert guidance to help you navigate all the options. We look forward to working with you and your pet to provide a medically supervised, veterinarian-approved nutrition plan to help them stay happy and healthy for many years to come!

We also make it easy for you to purchase the food and supplements your pet needs, through our online store. You can order your products from the comfort of your home and have them delivered right to your door.

Veterinary Nutritional Counselling, Milton

The Dietary Counselling Process

We’ll start by conducting a physical exam to determine your dog or cat's specific nutritional needs. We'll then use that information to develop a custom food plan to meet those requirements.

We may recommend that you feed your dog or cat prescription food, depending on if we feel they will have added benefits for your pet that regular products do not.

As dogs and cats get older, their nutritional needs will begin to change, so we must reassess their dietary needs at times. We will revisit our plan from time to time to make sure it is still providing the health benefits that your cat or dog needs.

How Can Dietary Counselling Help My Dog or Cat?

Our dietary counselling services can help address concerns you might have with your pet's nutrition and health. It can also help you:

  • Manage food allergies
  • Decode nutritional labels
  • Control health conditions such as diabetes
  • Help your pet achieve a healthy weight
  • Learn which and how much food to feed your pet
  • Choose food for your pet based on their needs and your budget
